How to Draw a Shooting Star
There are so many amazing sights looking in the night sky. Just some images to behold are just a glimpse of the Milky Way, the full moon, or a sky full of stars. If you’re fortunate, your strength even spots a shooting star. This fantastic wonder is so rare and unique that it is common to make a wish if you are lucky enough to see it.
It can be hard to get that chance, so learning to draw a shooting star to create your own can be a great alternative! By the end of this guide, you’ll have your wishful shooting star. Drawing Shooting Star
Step 1:
As you go through this guide on how to draw a shooting star, you’ll find things much easier if you have a ruler handy to help you. With that in mind, we’ll start drawing the star’s top in this first step. Using your ruler, draw two lines that connect at a sharp point.
Then add another line coming out slightly diagonally from the base of each. Once you have drawn these lines, you can draw a few more below, parallel to the others. If this looks complicated or confusing, keep a close eye on the reference image as you draw!
Step 2:
This second part of the shooting star drawing will follow a very similar process to the first step, with the only exception that it will be from a different angle. Using your ruler, you can add more to the point on the left side of the star, then add another point to the bottom left side.
Again, you’ll also add a few more lines parallel to the ones you just drew. When you’re happy with how it looks, you’re ready to move on.
Step 3:
For part three of our guide on how to draw a shooting star, we will complete the rest of the outline of the track itself. Again, we’ll use a ruler to add another point to the star and then a few more lines connecting this new point to the old one. This will complete the star’s outline, and in the following steps, we will add the trail it leaves behind as it flies across the sky.
Step 4:
As we mentioned in the previous step of your shooting star drawing, we’ll start by adding the trail it leaves in this action and the next. To do this, you can save your rule because you won’t need it anymore. Instead, we’ll draw curved lines, which may require more patience and a steady hand!
Then extend another much longer line from the far left. Finish by extending another line from the reverse tip to the left, then connect it with the last curved line you drew.
Step 5:
Before adding color to your illustration, we’ll add the final details in this step of our guide on how to draw a shooting star. To do this, we resolve to count two better-curved stripes. These lines will extend from the bottom two points of the star and then connect to the point formed by the two curved lines from the previous step.
Once you have removed these trail lines, you will be glad for the last step. You can even count your facts before restarting. These could include bright star details in the background or something fun and creative like an alien spaceship! These are just a few ideas you could try, but what else can you come up with for this image?
Step 6:
This brings you to the last step of your shooting star drawing, and for this one, you’ll finish it off with unique colors! In our reference image, we’ve chosen different shades of yellow for the different sections of the shooting star. This helps give it an excellent glossy look!
You can also use certain mediums to achieve the colors you want. Colored markers and acrylics can be great for bold, intense colors, but a more subtle approach would work just as well. It’s up to you, so have fun expressing your creativity!
