How can a candidate register for CLAT?

NTA just revealed the CLAT 2023 exam date! The exam conducting authority will conduct the exam on 18 December 2022. However, application and form release dates are to be announced yet. The first step to take admission to any of the top law schools is to be thorough with the CLAT eligibility requirements. This article will discuss how the CLAT Registration and CLAT application filling process works. 

CLAT Application form 2023

Once the candidates have checked the eligibility criteria for CLAT 2023, they shall begin by registering for the exam and then filling out the application form. The process requires the candidates to upload documents and enter details regarding educational qualifications, family details and other personal details. Therefore, the candidates must read the below-given steps for more clarity in the process.

How to fill CLAT 2023 application form?

The candidates must fill out the application form online through the official website. Overall, the process included 4 steps:

1. First, the candidates have to register themselves. Registration creates a personal profile of the candidate. The candidate uses the credentials provided after registration to log in to their portal for admission.
2. Next, the candidates have to fill out the detailed application form for CLAT. Here, the candidates’ personal and educational details are entered.
3. Once the candidate fills out the form, the application form is submitted.
4. In the last step, to complete the process, candidates pay registration fees.

Now we will look at the steps involved in each of these processes.

Step 1: CLAT Registration 2023

1. The candidate shall visit the website for CLAT 2023: consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
2. Click on CLAT 2023 link.
3. Click on “Register”
4. Enter the asked details, i.e. your name, mobile number and email ID.
5. Submit the details.
6. An OTP will be sent to your mobile number and your email address.
7. Enter the OTP and complete the registration process.

Thus, students should log in to further complete the application process.

Step 2: CLAT 2023 Application form

After registration, the candidates are expected to fill out an elaborate application form. This form indicates your application for admission through the CLAT exam.

1. Candidates must enter all the personal details that have been asked. For example, Applicant’s full name, gender, birth date, parent’s name, category, nationality, residential status, and NRI category status (if applicable). Click on next after entering all these details.
2. Enter the communication details. These details include permanent address, corresponding address, Applicant’s email ID and phone number. Save these details and go to the next page.
   1. The next section asks for education details. However, the candidates are expected to give details about the qualifying exam, i.e. 10+2 for undergraduate programmes and graduation for postgraduate programmes. The ones who have passed the exam enter their passing marks and percentage, whereas the appearing ones can state appearing in the examination status.
3. Once these details have been entered, the candidate selects their exam centre. The candidates must select the most feasible and accessible exam centres from the options provided. The candidates can choose from centres across 80 cities in the country.
4. Then the candidates must enter the reservation details and state the category they belong to. However, the candidate must possess a document to support their claim.
5. Submit the application form, and the application fee is submitted. The fee structure is such that students of the SC/ST/BPL category are given a relaxation of 500 on the fees of 4,000 INR. Once the fee is paid, the candidate’s application form is marked completed.
