Today, a business website is more than just a tool, it is important for marketing. As more and more customers begin their search for good local businesses online, you may be fooling yourself if you do not have a website, or if you have regular detours on your current website. In fact, some reports indicate that up to 75% of first-time customers looking for a new business will start their online search first.

You can have a website, but does it draw the amount of business you want? 2) Expired information-

If your website was created a few years ago, and you haven’t updated the content since then, then chances are you won’t find much on your website. Your business changed over the years, so your website needs to change as well. Because, after all, would you rent a business if the only information you could get was for 2 or 3 years?

3) Useless Websites –

This error is most common in websites created during the “website explosion” that occurred in the early 21st century. Then, it was not uncommon to see websites with simple structures, images that were already out of business, cartoon characters, etc. Also, most of the technology we have today was not available then. This is no longer acceptable. When you open your website, and there are glowing or moving images that are not related to our website (eg a dog running dog breaking your sections, or a “new” sign flashes in a few different colors) chances are your customers are turning their backs.

4) No Content-

The website needs to say as much as you can about your business. If your website contains only a few sentences, and then a “contact me for more information” link, you will lose customers. The reason customers start their online searches is to be able to get as much information as possible, without having to go through the hassle of contacting businesses and inquiring.

5) No contact information-

You may think that providing your contact information will not be unreasonable. You may be surprised at how many companies are excluding this by mistake. On the other hand, some leave only their addresses, which requires the customer to find a business directly to inquire about their services or products. Make sure you leave an email address or phone number with your address.

6) Javascript-

Javascript was a popular language during the development of the website. Javascript is a language that controls things like pop-up ads, pop-up messages, scroll toolbars, etc. Used properly, javascript can add useful content to your site. However, if misused, it can make your site look useless, slow down, or cause errors that do not allow your website to load at all.
