Comprehensive Services for Adults With Developmental Disabilities

Adults with developmental disabilities have a wide array of needs and can often benefit from comprehensive health and support services. There are thousands of people in North Carolina on the waiting list for developmental disability services. The wait for a DDS waiver can be three years or more. A person over the age of three with an IQ of 70 or less can be eligible for this waiver if they need services in their home. However, a child under the age of 12 typically does not require such services.

These services help a person regain lost skills or learn new ones. This training specialist may help a person with disabilities find a job and improve their living standards.
