TUNGANATH- Tunganath is the nearest offbeat place in Chopta. Tunganath is a temple situated at an altitude of 3870 m and one of Panch kedars. These Panch Kedars are Madhmaheshwar,Rudranath,Kedarnath and Kalpeshwar including Tunganath. Among all ,Tunganath is considered as the highest Lord Shiva Temple.
Tunganath and Chopta are just 3.5 km in distance. This approx.1000 year old temple is located at an altitude of 12073 ft.
Tunganath attracts a large number of pilgrims in Uttrakhand.so there are a large number of devotees who come to Tunganath every year.
CHANDRASHILA TREK
Chandrashila is located 5km from Chopta and 1 km from Tunganath.As per the mythology chandrashila is a place where Lord Rama meditated here after defeating the Ravana.
The Chandrashila peak offers an unfiltered view of the valley. Being on the highest point this place receives heavy rainfall so it is recommended to try trekking in the rainy season. The photography enthusiasts visit there to capture必利勁

UKHIMATH-
Ukhimath is a small town 29 km from Chopta in Rudraprayag. It is also popular as the winter seat of Kedarnath. Tourists come here to learn about a culture full of life and great sightseeing. During the winters when Kedarnath remains close devotees move to Ukhimath for trekking. If you visit this offbeat place you won’t regret it and it would be the best decision to pack your bag and give yourself a chance to explore the nature.
BISURITAL-
Bisurital is one of the offbeat destinations in Chopta and this is an unpopular place not many tourists are aware of. It is 30 km away from Chopta. This trek is 60 km ascending and descending both side which are surrounded by alpine meadows. This untouched and unexplored offbeat destination remains crystal clear throughout the year. The entire trek passes through the dense forest, river,waterfalls and rere wildlife etc.
KARTIK SWAMI TREK
Ukktarkhand is called Devbhumi because this place contains lots and lots of temples along with beautiful himalayan valleys and a number of offbeat destinations. Kartik swami temple and trek is one of those offbeat destinations . This trek leads from Kanakchauri village which offers the 360 view of Himalaya which looks stunning.

WHEN TO VISIT CHOPTA
Visiting Chopta or any other place in Uttrakhand mostly depends on personal preference. You may visit chopta during May- June. During this period weather remains pleasant and snow melts gradually and it maintains the right amount of cold and warmth. Melting snow makes the scene even more vivid and bright.
In October , when Autumn gives the nostalgic feel in chopta, trekking and walking amidst fallen leaves and hearing them crunch sound itself works as therapeutic.
Monsoon is never recommended to visit in Chopta. Although most of the people move to Ukhimath, the beauscus of Kedarnath remains shut.

Don’t expect facilities at Chopta.you will get the basic facilities in Chopta and other offbeat spots. Camping is most popular in Chopta and other places also. The charges of these tents and camps are nominal. You should keep in mind that you have to compromise with utensils. Although Instant noodles will be available all the time.
